Video Editing Rental Workstation Checklist

Specify the workload before reserving the hardware. This checklist helps a producer, editor, and rental coordinator agree on what the project actually requires.

Media and performance

Document codec, resolution, frame rate, multicam use, effects, plugins, and export deadlines. Check the listed MacBook 24GB or iMac 16GB memory configuration against the project. Confirm internal storage; no SSD capacity is currently specified for the MacBook or iMac listing. Assess representative project files rather than assuming a device name guarantees performance.

Software and connections

Confirm app versions, licenses, plugins, and permissions for every editing station. List external drives, docks, displays, card readers, audio devices, and adapters. Agree any required setup services and accessories in writing; they are not automatic inclusions. Plan network transfer requirements and storage access for collaboration.

Data and return

Maintain an independent backup throughout the rental. Allow time for the final export and transfer before the last rental day ends. Verify backups and sign out of personal or business accounts. Return the complete recorded equipment set and remove any account or enrollment locks.
